"'This is a work of abstract art and also a book of philosophy describing the nature of things. ' That's the description applied to Ashok Davar's 'Talking Works : A Unique Alphabet Book ' by Kneeland McNulty , the Philadelphia Museum of Art's curator of prints and drawing . The museum has placed in its permanent collection the original artowrk for the book , which covers the full alphabet , starting with 'A as in Arrow, ' via drawings such as those shown here. Author-artist-philosopher Davar is a native of India who has been visiting the United States , spending much of his time in Philadelphia . He first came to this country on a Rotary Fellowship Award. "
