I'ose prendre la liberté/
de vous introduire M. Fowler, feu Président/

It is {that [crossed out]} the latter element essential to {in [crossed out]} the proposed plan, which all friend/
to increase friendly intercourse between the two great sea-divid[ed] Nations/
{with a narrow sea divide [crossed out]}, most hope for your {aide & [?] [crossed out]}/
[?] & good offices./
Page 4 My dear Will,/
Fowler's journey being postponed to [?]/
I reclaimed a Note of Introdn hastily penned, to write a better one/
the substance of which I submit to you, for putting into safe french[sic]!/
Ricardelus grows in nosiness & vigour & good spirits. I was calling/
the other day at '50 Westbourne Terrace, & finding our friends/
Nobles not at home went in to the 'Photographers,' whose bill,/
receipted, I inclose[sic]. It seems Faulkener is away, & your work/
was botched by an assistant--he will be back in a fortnig[ht]/
The young Lady in the drawing-room assured me there would [be]/
no charge for the repetition of the attempt./
With love to dear Emmy & Helen,/
ever your affectionate Father/
