My dear Mamma/
I being this without knowing whether I shall be/
able to finish it to day, but at any rate it will go to-/
morrow, and I wish not to lose any opportunity of writing/
for, indeed leisure is at present a thing not to be gained./

rail road, after travelling all night from {Manchester [crossed out]}/

10. In the road to Birmingham from Oxford we had the/
great pleasure of visiting Shakespeare's house, at Stratford/
where I saw among other interesting signatures all over the/
walls that of the great mind Schiller, that of our present/

We had a ride on the rail-road and brought safe home all our/
Packages--we shall arrive at Lancaster on Wednesday evening./
Then all letters &c will be most welcome at Castle Hill./
